Some snippets from Grace's first FE College report:
Grace is a charming girl and has made significant progress...
Grace's confidence continues to grow, as does her ability...
Her work experience in the nursery is going well...
Not only has she achieved all her targets, she has excelled at them and also produced work of a consistently high standard...
She should be justifiably proud of herself and her achievements...
Grace has been a pleasure to teach...
She is a motivated student and is keen to learn which makes her a pleasure to teach.
I didn't just pull the best bits our either. That was pretty much what her tutors had to say.
Brilliant news.
Now then, this report we found on her bedroom floor, one day after college. She didn't hand it to us. I sat on the bed reading it aloud whilst she drew pictures at her desk.
Me: 'Grace! See? They think you're wonderful! You've been doing a great job!'
Grace: 'They probably just didn't want to hurt my feelings. They were just being nice.'
I think we have some work to do to build up her self-esteem! The diagnosis knocked her a bit. I think she's still coming to terms with who she is and what she can do. I assured her that teachers don't use phrases like, 'this student is a pleasure to teach' if they aren't. They don't LIE in reports!{vbg}

Congratulations, Grace! How exciting for all of you!
Good for Grace! Yay!
Super job, Grace.
Dorothy, I had to chuckle...or maybe not, but Bessie read this post, said "Great job, Grace!" and then said, "I would have the same reaction if it was my report, people are just being nice." Why do these girls have such stinky self-esteem.
Well done, Grace! And well done, Mum ... it is thanks to your love and hard work that Grace is able to get such a good report.
((Dorothy)), I know this has been a tough year for you, but any tears over this were tears of joy.
What a blessing this program is for Grace.
:)
That's great! Go Grace!!!
and re: girls and self esteem (and women) after I read it I felt glad for you and then thought to myself, my child would never get such a great report. LOL we are hard on ourselves!
Glad to hear that the college has been so sucessful for Grace.
Great report for Grace. I have one that tends to see things as Grace and would think the teacher was just being nice. lol
