Fourth Sunday in Advent

We had a LOVELY lazy Sunday morning.

Jamie and Grace were playing/singing in a solo spot at a big nearby church's carol service, which was a great honour to be asked to do. This wasn't happening until the afternoon, so we rested in the morning.

Rehearsing the song, Grace sang several notes out of tune and I was quite worried! But in the actual event she was note perfect (except once, but I think she got away with it.) It was very well received and she and Jamie were buoyed up by people's encouragement after the service. We've all had a rough time of discouragement in the last few months, so it was a blessing.

The whole service was good. We also met and chatted with quite a few other Christian musicians we'd not met before, so that was also really helpful.

When we got home, we opened up a mysterious box from Oregon! I'm participating in an 'Ornament Exchange' on a yahoo list I'm a member of, so I was pretty sure that's what it was.Included was a package of Hershey's Kisses!It's always nice to get unexpected kisses!

Ah, a sweet angel!

She now adorns a side table in the dining room where we are keeping cookies and so on during Christmas. These are left over from the party on Saturday. (More Lidl's favourites, Jackie!)

We have called her the Dessert Angel! Thank you, Beverly! She's lovely!

After dinner, we cracked on with the Advent study. It had been a great day and this a very apt end to it, loving the accounts in the Word of God's plan for our salvation through Immanuel!

That was yesterday. Among today's jobs are buying a turkey and making a nut loaf for Jamie! I'd better get on with them!
