Where Are We?

It's nice to find places in England I have never been to before. My family loved to explore, so there are not too many places I've not been, especially in the South. Look at this scene. It reminds me of Ontario.

Or Scotland.

But it's the Wye Valley again. A mill race.

Ah, what's this?

We're at Tintern Abbey, Founded in 1131, destroyed in 1536 during the Reformation by Henry V111, as part of his efforts to bring the whole of the English and Welsh church under his control.
My photos do not do it justice. It is truly beautiful. Check these photos out.
On the way back to hotel, on one of the winding country roads there was a sign to say there was a Viewing Point up a hill. Jamie made me walk up it. There were 362 steps. But the path was being repaired so we had to take the LONG WAY UP! When we got there, he ignored the signs to go out onto a stone balcony which jutted out over the ravine.

But he did get these shots.{g}

I was happy to sit and rest and look out over the Valley and the Severn Estuary, and bridge between Wales and England, in the distance.
It WAS worth the climb.
I love the greenness of my country. Every time I've flown in from somewhere else I've been taken aback by its rich patchwork of green. Or in the late summer, green and gold.

BEAUTIFUL! I can hardly wait to visit if even just for a short couple of days. Honestly, I still can't believe we're going to Europe. I don't really think it has sunk in yet.

I visited the link you posted. Wow...just breath-taking! Thanks for sharing. If this is what we have here on the Earth, I cannot wait to see what the Lord has prepared for us in Heaven. : )

Hi Alexandra,

Yes, they are sheep. It's hard to get a good perspective in some of these photos of distances! LOL!
