Soooo, Jamie and I volunteered to lead a Kids' Praise Party last week in a different part of the school where our church meets, to allow the parents to attend church and the kids to have a break from trying to be 'good'. Our idea was 'Jesus has Authority' and the theme we centred it around was the raising of Lazarus.
Getting the craft and food tables ready. 25 kids turned up. We had lots of singing, dancing and jumping around! The kids got a loot bag each too!
The inevitable, wrapping people up in toilet paper, occurred. The wrapped Lazaruses (lazari?) had a race, which was fun! We watched a section of The Miracle Maker on DVD.
Grace was in charge of showing the children the songs' actions and Jack was our page turner! And I did a sketch involving the use of a frozen chicken. (Don't ask.)
We love doing things together as a family at church!

What fun! I'm sure the kids and the parents where thrilled. What a great service to do as a family.
Looks like a very fun day for the children of the church!
Dorothy, what a fun and different way to spend your Sunday. And what a blessing for the younger children to not only have Grace and Jack there, but also to see you doing this together as a *family.*
Sounds fun! Something the kids will remember a long time!
Sounds AWESOME, Dorothy! I bet the kids had a blast and the parent appreciated your efforts, I'm sure. You're SO creative!
That was so neat! And I love that you all did it together as a family!
Way to go - I'm impressed!
Neat! Our church did "Family Sunday School" this summer but it wasn't nearly this fun! LOL
