Between Christmas and New Year, we met with some friends and went for a wintry walk through the Ashridge Estate.

A pretty village with its own little post office.
A little snow on the ground and mist in the woods.

Not many of those red phone boxes left now, due to the ubiquitous mobile phone.
The village pond is still frozen.
Nearly at our destination...

Good British beer, a roaring fire and a hot lunch.
