It's the title of a devised piece of drama in which Jack is acting. About 20 home-educated kids are doing Drama IGCSE together this year. On Monday, the groups perform the piece in a theatre, which gets filmed and sent off to the examiner. This constitutes 50% of the grade. The rest comes from the written exam. 25% will be an essay describing the devising/rehearsal process and the last 25% an essay about the chosen set play, Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
'Chavs' are a particular group within British youth culture. I have no idea of the ins and outs of it and really none of the kids do, protected as they are from much youth culture due to being home-educated, so there is some irony at work here. Yes, they are wearing costumes. J is a nice girl who does not normally dress like that! LOL! OH and apparently, hair being scraped back tightly like that is called an Essex Facelift. I thought you'd find that amusing, Mrs W.
Seamus with the red hair, their teacher, is an actor, Irish, very enthusiastic and talented. The kids LOVE working with him. What a star he's been.
The girl in green comes from a family of professional child actors. Her younger sister stars in this (bizarre) Cadbury's advert. (Don't read the comments to this YouTube link. They are shocking and horrible.) The advert is worth watching though, if you've not seen it before.And in case you were wondering how it was done? Tiny wires were attached to their skin and pulled. And apparently, it hurt. A lot.

Jodi, the exam got postponed until next week. The theatre we'd hired had to have some emergency rewiring! The nerves continue...
