My weird sleeping patterns have developed into the following nonsense:
10.30 go to bed
2.30 wake up worrying
3.00 go downstairs and lie on sofa whilst listening to Premier Christian Radio
6.00 drop off again
6.30 get woken by someone (husband or cat usually) stumbling about in the kitchen
Yes, I'm averaging 4 and a half hours' sleep right now. In other words, I'm running on empty. Still.
Herbs not working.
Daytime activity or exercise not working.
I know it's stress over a very long period leading to generalised anxiety. Long term stress and free floating anxiety is VERY common in parents of children with disabilities. I wish, I wish I knew how to permanently eradicate this from my life, yet I have a suspicion that it's going to be simply a question of living with it.
At the moment, I feel like this guy.

Hmm, maybe a radical break from your routine will jolt your system. A bit of a vacation somewhere wild and free with lots of fresh air and walking - seaside at Wales maybe?
Possible long term fixes: Fresh brisk air always makes me feel better. I keep the upstairs cold where I sleep. I've begun adding more plants to the interiors of the house for better air and humidity.
Or just give into it, ride it like a wave, and pray.
I hope you get some sleep soon. :)
Coenzyme Q10 helped Wookie, but it does take a few weeks to show :( We get ours from www.zipvit.co.uk
Hope you find something that helps or get some long naps...
Praying that you can get some much needed rest.
So sorry, Dorothy! Have you tried melatonin?
Dorothy - I'm praying. I've experienced the same strange sleep patterns. My doc, the age of my oldest child I believe, told me it was "my certain age"...... yeah, WELL. LOL
