I promise I'll stop going on about this tomorrow.
Well, soon anyway!
I thought it was all over, but no, when we got up bright and early on Sunday morning in order to go and set up the hall for leading worship, more surprises awaited me. A lovely bunch of flowers and a French breakfast of croissants etc.
After morning church was over, we were all pretty tired, but only I was dispatched upstairs for a rest.
The others were putting up banners and getting party poppers, balloons and shredded tissue (?) etc ready for a really nice lunch, which was lovely and unexpected!
And of course, we had birthday cake! I so need to go on a diet now.
I just couldn't resist playing to the camera! I'm not really a pyromaniac.
And ten years later? All this lovely weekend!
See? Who says men can't change?

I'm glad you had such a wonderful birthday. I'd wish you a happy one but I'm a bit late ;). May your 50s be your best decade yet!
OH my, Dorothy! You sure were pampered this year! Way to go family.

I just love your new hair style.
Well, good for him to remember that, other than money being an issue last time, he kind of messed up LOL
I'm glad you had such a lovely birthday weekend!
Well, I'm Very Happy for you to have a delightful weekend.
And I got to split a Great Wall of Chocolate with my sister & a cousin last night during yet another ferocious thunderstorm -- it certainly takes the edge off any pangs of jealousy if you're wiping chocolate frosting off your face!
Your luncheon is BEAUTIFUL. Fabulous job getting a good picture of THAT.
Dorothy, that is a lot of breakfast food, oh my! It looks like you had a long birthday celebration, and that's my favorite kind!
Kristine, that wasn't breakfast, that was lunch!LOL!
Actually, it was our main meal that day as we ate it about 3.00 pm because we were out all evening at church in Oxford.
Yes, it was a busy weekend!
Sounds like the whole weekend was simply lovely!
You mean to say that as we gt older our DH's get better at things like birthdays? I shall hold out on that hope!
Oh my. You turned 50 while my broadband connection was down! That was a narrow escape lol.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and congratulations on your birthday, looks like it was a fab weekend.
I don't suppose you need 120 similar sized cardboard boxes at all?
