Scenes From a Scottish Supper

Grace was wearing tartan in her hair, honest. David is wearing a tartan shirt. It's amazing what you can do with tartan tea towels!
Jamie sings a sad lament.

Most Scottish songs are sad laments.
About Culloden, usually.
But sometimes about Flodden Fields.
And sometimes about how the English always beat them at football.
Rebecca is a star singer, a professional opera singer, in fact. Embarassingly for her, her 3 year old daughter usually covers her ears when her mummy sings.
Great photo of me.
Thanks Jack.
Interesting interpretation of the 'Wear Some Tartan About Your Person' stipulation.
Drummers...

Jack's tie.
I forgot to take pictures of the food which included scottish smoked salmon, haggis, bashed neeps, rumbledethumps, braised leeks, oatcakes, caledonian cheese, teabread, trifle and shortbread.

A good time was had by all. Even those who spent the evening in the kitchen whilst their children made up poetry on our fridge with magnetic words. It takes all sorts!

Looks like it was a very fun party. I especially chuckled at the picture of the 3 year old enjoying her mommy's singing. :) And, dare I ask what bashed neeps are?? :)
