Garden Needs Attention!

There's been lots of this sort of thing going on this past week.

Oh, and boy, has our garden needed it. The front garden is tiny with some nice things in it, but very overgrown and weedy. However, at last, my Mothering Sunday gift of a tree got planted, as did the rose my friend Christine gave me to mark my baptism. It's called Amazing Grace, which was rather sweet.

The back garden is larger and has EVEN more weeds. But we are doing some work every day because the weather has been set fair. We've been rearranging things a little too. No money to do anything really radical, but trying to arrange things slightly better.

Oh, we are hoping and praying that this summer is drier than last year, which was a total wash out. I'm hoping for some long sunny days after all Jack's exams are over so he can play basketball with his friends and have a good rest before starting next year's courses.

This summer might be Grace's last 'summer holiday' from college too, as her course likely ends in 2010 (oops, put 1010 there in my first draft), as funding runs out for her transport to college. Then, if she's one of the lucky 12% of people with ASD who are employed, which we obviously hope she will be, she'll be working next summer. I do hope this summer is a good one for her, with happy memories of sunshine and relaxation.

Interesting to hear that Grace is time travelling back to the Middle Ages ;).

Makes me want to get out & work in my garden. It needs to be cleaned out from winter. Maybe tomorrow...
