Oh, okay. Just Kidding. Here's Some Photos.

The main reason I had a very boring week is because I spent most of it 'sorting stuff'. All our Stuff is now well and truly Sorted.

I cleared my desk and threw away masses of papers, junk mail, old letters etc. I did come across 4 old photos in an envelope too. I have no idea why they were together, as they aren't even from the same decades. I thought it might be fun to scan them and display them here, since it seems they are destined never to find their way into albums.

The first picture for your delectation and delight, not to mention hysteria, is this one from Circa 1987. My question is, why did Jamie wear all leather that night? And how bad did he smell that evening? I've clearly blotted that from my memory.
It was an outdoor video shoot somewhere in the US. The note on the back, presumably from the photographer, says Euclid, Ohio, but that might not have been where the shoot took place. I remember that the local tv news sent a team to do a piece for the evening news. They did a Vox Pop in which someone was quoted as saying, 'This is the most exciting thing to happen to our town since the 1947 hurricane!' My memory is sketchy, though. It might have been the 1967 tornado. Or the 1937 Tsunami or something. All good fun. Moving on....
Those two young and stupid people had only recently met, so it must be 1982. It looks as though he is laughing at my chest. I was clearly deeply unimpressed. Little would I have suspected that he would be making my early morning tea 27 years later.
And that, in the mean time, this would have happened.

I was pregnant with Jack, 15 years ago, in Canada.
And just because I really like to embarrass Jamie, here's a photo where someone had obviously told him to try to look mean because it was better than looking as though he's laughing at people's chests.

Ah, he never could look mean.

Sic Transit Gloria Mundi!
Who was Goria Mundi, anyway?
I always pciture her as the same Gloria as in the Van Morrison song:
Gloooooooria G.L.O.R.I.A.
Or the Patti Smith version. Whichever you prefer.
I have to go now. Apparently, I need my medication.

Ah, Dorothy, Dorothy ....
In that second one, you look like a young Cilla! I am pleased to say, there is now no resemblance whatsoever, and I do feel you got the best of it!
I bet Jamie now wishes he'd invested what he spent on hair gel, back then ...

J A C K I E!
I double dog dare YOU to post a pick from 1982 on your blog! {g}

Jamie did spend ridiculous amounts on hair 'product' when he was in the band, but No 2 photo is pre-band when he was but a lowly student.{g}

Dee Dee, These pics are pretty tame considering the really embarrassing stuff that's already out there. We keep bumping into his younger self online and in magazines, hearing one of their songs played as background to tv shows, adverts etc.

It's a weird, weird thing.

Hmm I wonder if I can find any 1985 photos of us? Don't think any exist...

So glad you sorted your stuff and didn't throw away the envelope without looking in it. Priceless bits of history there :)

"Hysteria" is right, I laughed out loud at this post more than a few times!

Love your darling hair so short. And what, Jamie laughs at your chest and YOU end up pregnant? What's with THAT?!

I'm glad my dh has no (more) hair. There's no competition for the blow dryer...

Kristine, It was a strange relief when my hair finally was longer than Jamie's but I have to say that was not till about 15 years into our relationship! {g}
