This Week for Team Stewart

Once again, I feel like I'm standing in the middle of a tornado. Oddly calm, whilst everything swirls chaotically around me.

Friends have kindly asked if I have any news from the hospital. Yes, good and bad. Good, in that the material taken during the biopsy showed nothing suspicious. Bad, in that there may not have been enough material to demonstrate clearly that I don't have cancer. I asked my dr to hack into the hospital computer to see the histology results, so she was reading the report written to the Consultant. But the Top Man himself hasn't seen it yet, or pronounced what happens next. My dr says she thinks it's possible he might want to go ahead with the procedure they wanted to do in the first place, the 'gold standard investigation', hysteroscopy under a general anaesthetic. I'm bracing myself. Not happy. But the results could obviously be worse.

Tessie is waiting for a call.

Jamie went to see The Cult in London on Sunday night. He thought it might well be the last time, this band, these songs, which he was so involved with, might be played in London and so, felt the need to be there. (I didn't. So stayed home.{g}) All the people he knew 20 years ago were there, plus assorted celebrities lurking backstage. He enjoyed hanging out with them again and it will be good for them all to stay in touch.

Jamie looks like Denis the Menace in this picture. It's an ironic touch because he had a top like that 25 years ago and I always called him that back then. They look rather grim and rock and roll in this pic. There is another one in which they were all caught off-guard and laughing. I like it better but will keep that one private.

Mark Brzezicki, Ian Astbury, Jamie Stewart and Billy Duffy

This gallop down memory lane has had some interesting repercussions which I might blog about some time. But for a week or so, it threw us into a strange sort of turmoil, now settling.

Grace and Jack have required the services of Mum and Dad's taxi company as they dart here and there. Jack sat his RS paper 2 exam. He thinks he did better for this one. Most of his revision was in the car on the way to the exam centre, so I suspect not. {g}

Jack is entering a band for the Battle of the Band competition on Saturday. Grace has three entries! A song accompanied on the piano by herself, another accompanied by a friend, Naomi and a third played rock and roll style by a band of teenage friends. I think this is a little ambitious and will encourage her to drop the self-accompanied one.{g}

As usual, the week before a Life-Songs event all sorts of minor calamities occur. People usually get ill or hurt themselves, problems with equipment/venue/personnel. (This week, so far, our kitchen started falling apart, Jack has developed some kind of cold/flu, TWO key team members have had to drop out.) We're used to it, we press on and hope nothing more major happens before Saturday afternoon!

A still October afternoon, looking across flat, flat Oxfordshire.

I'm not fooled. It's the eye of the storm.

Sounds crazy, looks beautiful, and I'm enjoying reading how God is continuing His work in your lives. :D

How could the doc not have gotten enough sample? Arghghghgh... he/she's supposed to know what they're doing with this. What a pain to have to go through yet another procedure.

Renee,

It IS a pain. But it's my fault. I asked for this procedure rather than the recommended one. I hoped to avoid a bigger procedure with more risk associated with it. She was reluctant, but agreed.

That's why the hysteroscopy is the 'gold standard' investigation and not the pipelle biopsy because it sometimes fails to gather enough material.{sigh} The report says there was 'scant' material. It all now depends on what the Consultant decides.

Kristine, I'm glad that you are enjoying reading the blog. I sometimes worry about being too open about what's going on.

BTW If you can figure out what on earth God IS doing with our lives, let us know will ya? LOL!

I'm unfamiliar with the term hysteroscopy and wondering how it compares to the D&C I had. I think with the D&C the gyn. took the entire lining out. Then it was biopsied. Is this what they'll do next for you, Dorothy? I did not have general anesthesia, as you know. I think you'd be better off with general anesthesia unless you have real problems with it. Ugh! Hoping for a quick resolution.

Praying you find the answers to your medical questions SOON! There's nothing worse than not knowing....

Yep, sometimes things look good at first blush, then you realize all over again why you made those decisions so many years ago!

I would have liked to see that concert. Having recently reconnected with old friends from 20+ years ago on Facebook, I can say it's nice to reconnect with the past, but I enjoy the present and future so much better! I've realized I am no longer the same person, and many have not changed at all. Sometimes you just can't go back.

I don't know what God is doing and do wish you had more firm results but at least one mystery is solved. Now I know who my cat Flower has been phoning in England. I see that Tessie was waiting for Flowers call. It all makes sense now......

(vbg)

Praying more for your results and what may be to come.
