Now obviously, having survived 5 winters in Ontario, my family laugh in the face of a few inches of snow, but still rejoiced when dh's boss told him not to come in to work! Yippee! Let's get out in it!
Berries outside my door
I hate this sign, you might as well have a sign saying, no children having fun on this estate please.
Hey, it doesn't say anything about snowball fights.
Tessie is not sure about the cold white stuff.
She looks cute though, doesn't she?
And so does Grace. My little Nanook of the North. No, she's not really growing a beard.
Neighbourhood kids get stuck into a snowball fight.
So much snow, better make a couple of these.

We were in a park shared by US Air Force housing and the ex-MOD property which we live in. There was a huge, good-natured snowball battle going on between US teenagers and some natives. Insults were also hurled between the two teams. They went along these lines:
All hands on deck for this snowman. Grace was supervising. Jack about to get a snowball in the back of the head.
'Not another picture of me, Mum.' Grace doesn't realise how unusual these conditions are!

"America is the greatest!"
"Yes, but you are useless at football!"
"It's soccer and it's for girls!"
Shocked outrage followed, and then the stangest insult I've ever heard,
"Yeah? Well, you killed your own president!"
A moment's silence then the teams decided to repair to someone's house for hot chocolate. Phew, a major diplomatic incident averted by the use of chocolate. Nice one! I wonder if that would work in the Middle East?
Jamie is looking for a snowball fight to join.

Seeing your snowman brought back memories for me growing up in Indiana and making snowmen. My poor deprived kids living down here in the tropics :-)
How lovely, D! It looks so pretty. We have not had a snowy winter this year, just very, very cold right now with lots of wind.
No one calls of work for snow here. What a nice treat to have the day with your hubby.
Wonderful pictures, Dorothy! ~Yvonne
Hey. You guys are getting the same weather we're getting at the moment. THREE days of snow now!
I love all the pictures, and I love the stark gray/white in the background of many of them. It looks like a wonderfully FUN sort of day. Tessie is too cute! Lovely photos of Grace too. You really got quite a nice amount of snow!
Wow that was quite a turn around. We love snow ball fights.
Kristine,
the background was white because it was still snowing quite heavily. Much of it is melted today. We have to take advantage of the stuff when it appears!
Debbie,
I'd rather have snow than ice and wind!
Dorothy
Looks like you all had LOTS of fun! Excellent pictures.
Yes i think chocolate can solve most things, perhaps all officials should be made to have some every day.
