Lunch with friends today

We had a busy morning doing schoolwork and housework and cooking. Well, I did the cooking. We had some friends and their children over for lunch and it was great! We hadn't seen J and her children for a long time and M and her son came over too.

We had macaroni cheese, home-made of course, tomato and parmesan bread, carrots and pumpkin pie with stewed apples (thanks to J) with cream. I don't think we'll be needing much dinner tonight. I'd planned pizza, but I think it might only be Jamie eating it!

The kids all went over to the park in the afternoon together. They are old enough to go by themselves but not so old to be bored by it. Unfortunately, Jack, my exuberant one, somehow ended up on the roof of the tall climbing equipment and was reprimanded by a passing police officer. He apologised and came down immediately, but how I wish he was more cautious and less impulsive. I've expressed my disappointment in his action and Jamie will also have to speak to him when he comes home. He is looking suitably chastened though.

J and M and I enjoyed our time together. I've had quite a bit of adult company recently which has been good.

Tonight is movie night. Jamie is getting home a little earlier than usual and we will watch a DVD from the library. Grace and Jack and I are all getting over our colds now, but Jamie's is just starting. Poor baby.
