Hello All!
I've not been neglecting my blog, just a combination of busy-ness and illness. I've not been feeling particularly well for about a month now and have developed an infection in my leg which necessitated a trip to the docs for the inevitable antibiotics. My naughty (arthritic) hip has been naughtier than usual too.
I don't know about you, but the combination of being too busy and being ill enough to not be able to do anything very well really stresses me out and the least little thing then sends me into floods of tears. I burst into sobs on Jamie's shoulder yesterday apologising for being such a bad wife. Actually, I said 'wifey' because that's what he calls me sometimes. He laughed and asked me what I was 'on about'. I let him have the whole story:
'The house is a mess and I'm in pain and I'm worried about doing GCSE's with Jack and Grace is coming down with a sore throat and I don't know how bad it is because it's so difficult to tell with her, and I have to drive all the way to Hemel Hempstead tomorrow and I'm sooo tired and the kitchen floor hasn't been cleaned in weeks, and we're already behind with our Advent readings and we've run out of guinea pig food! Waaaah! I'm such a bad Wifey!!!!'
Now, there would have been a time in the past when Jamie would have tried to deal with a sobbing wifey by telling me that things weren't really so bad, there are people in Africa with no food. But fortunately, after 25 years with me, he's learned a thing or too.
He wisely just held me close and told me to forget the kitchen floor. 'Who cares about that?'
Who says men can't be trained?

Heh, heh, heh...sounds just like my hubby. : ) ~Yvonne
Dorothy,
Isn't it such a blessing to have such an understanding dh?
So Jack has to take the GCSE tests even though he's homeschooled? My daughter was told by a teacher last year that the GCSE was easier than the IG (international version) - not sure why.
Renee, we have to do GCSE's (or an equivalent, normally IGCSE's) in order to move on to the next stage of education (A Levels) in this country. No one HAS to do them of course. It's just without them you can't get a job worth having or go on to university. {LOL!}
It's much harder to do these public examinations when you are outside the system, hence my ongoing nightmares on the subject.
A compassionate husband is a gift from God!
LOL! My dh doesn't complain about the house either.
