Home Produce

Our tiny, north-facing, dark garden doesn't produce much of note, apart from moss, but strawberries appear to love it here. Every morning we go out to find more ripe juicy strawbs before the slugs or birds get them. We've had a lot of herbs and lettuce too, but it's a shame you can't eat weeds.
The lettuces have been bolting, so we need to eat a LOT over the next couple of days.

I'm thinking of ordering a weekly organic fruit and veg box from
Abel and Cole. I've not had veg boxes before because, in the past, they've been quite limited as to what you have to have. I just can't see my family munching through a lot of chard somehow. But this company allows you to have up to 20 Dislikes which is great, though we only have a few between us. You can also adjust the box contents each week and it seems easy to cancel if you are away etc. This might just work for us.

I'd love it if we had a service like that in our area. We do have CSAs (farm shares basically), but I always forget to look into it in time to register. Maybe next year!

LOL! About eating weeds... We'd never go hungry if we could eat the weeds around here (LOL)!

Dorothy- You know we used A&C for months and months there in Wendlebury with good results -- quality was excellent and the www tool allowe us to tailor the order each week. Quite nice! Blessings to you all -- we're still scheming to get out there this fall to viva away the thesis!
