I have warned Jack that all his funny faces will appear on the blog anyway!The kids have loved the fun and the fellowship and I have appreciated how this has encouraged their fitness and enjoyment of sport. The level of activity they have throughout their week is much higher than most kids and I'm convinced it's because we've always emphasised sport as an integral part of our home ed.
This will stand them in good stead as they grow up, lean, fit and healthy. Sadly, Grace, together with her peer group (16-18 year olds), are now moving on from home education into college and sixth-form. So these are the last few weeks of our weekly Day of Sport.
Grace is going to college more days a week next September and will no longer be HE'd by me, even part-time. Jack will be needing all 5 days to focus on his examination courses, though he will continue with the local Athletics Club in the evenings and swimming at the weekend.
He won't be able to wow us with his soccer skills for much longer!
Except for the nightly games down on the field with the neighbourhood kids!
Which will give the other home-ed kids more of a turn! {g}
As he's a bit of a ball hog.The subs, waiting for their go! Grace is dressed so appropriately for sport, isn't she? Trousers, dress, waistcoat and necklace!{g}
Hanging out in the cafe at lunch time, a vital part of the socialisation process! Though Grace often likes to sit slightly apart from the others. The sensory overload is too much for her sometimes. They understand though, and are not offended. They are too busy being entertained by Jack.
I will really miss the regular contact with my friends too. So much is changing for us all at once. It's going to be difficult. We are going to need lots of help from the Lord, I think.

What fun this group must be! I'd love to have something like that here. There are groups, just none that we fit quite with. But, I'm on the lookout.
Change is hard, but sometimes it brings marvelous things, so be excited! I don't like change either, so I sympathize. :)
Changing to a different life season is hard, for sure. But it's amazing how we learn to adapt.
Your group sounds like a lot of fun.
Dorothy- changing seasons are plain hard; though I do find I do a lot of maturing in those seasons.I'm praying for you.
Dorothy, could you tell Grace that I LOVE her outfit. She has such a cool style.
Wow, you sure do have a lot of changes happening. Even if some changes are good it's atill a big adjustment.
