Fortunately, the sun shone. So, our home-ed group of 35 kids and their parents had a really good day.
Jack's elbow was a little too high there.
Grace takes her turn with the belay rope.
Jack, of course, has to go further than anyone else. The instructor had to stop him from standing on the top point!
Time to shoot at something. A target of course.
After the kids had several turns, the 'staff' were asked if they wanted a go. Staff (me and one other Dad in our group) jumped at the chance and did rather well, thanks very much. I scored 2 bulls eyes, which was fun for me.
But not for Jack, who couldn't believe his old mum was a better shot than him!
Being silly, waiting for their turns at the zip wire. Can you guess who started the fun?
Jack at the top waiting to slide down the wire.
Off he goes.
Grace is not quite so enthusiastic...
...but says she enjoyed it!
This is Jack's reaction to potholing. - Let me at it!
Jumping down the hole!
He was in there so long we almost sent in a search party. That's because he was exploring all the tunnels.

The day before this activity day, a friend asked Grace if she enjoyed potholing.
'Oh yes.' she said.
'You don't get claustrophobic?'
'No, I think it's fun!' Which surprised me as I didn't know she'd ever been before. Perhaps she had gone with the Guides some time, I thought.
In the car, on the way there, the next day, she asked, 'What's potholing, Mum?'
Mmmm....I'm not sure what she was thinking when she told our friend that she enjoyed it. {g} Maybe she thought it was something to do with pots?
It was a good day. One of those days, though I had a certain amount of stress related to the organisation of it, that was well worth the trouble because of the fun memories it gave the kids.

We loved Phasel's Wood - haven't been for years but neither of mine liked the potholing :)
Dorothy, what a fun day. This place looks fantastic for kids...right up Bessie's alley, she loves this kind of thing. I would enjoy some of it, but certainly not the potholing...too claustrophic.
I had to chuckle at Grace telling her friend she loved potholing when she wasn't sure what it was. Our Rachel does that all the time. I think she is just trying to be enthusiastic.
I definitely could NOT do that potholing. I almost had a breakdown having an MRI once!
I think I would have balked at the zip line. I've never heard of potholing. It looks like a great day for all.
Dorothy,
Looks like another GREAT day of activities!
This looks like great fun. I too would have joined in EXCEPT for the potholing!
The day made for some fun pictures, that's for sure!
Another American who is baffled by pot-holing. Never heard of it. If you would try to do that in Louisiana, it would be called "drowning." :^) Any deep hole one digs down here fills with water because of the high water table. Therefore, NO basements for us! And no pot-holing. (Unless you count driving over rough, country roads. Louisiana roads are notoriously "holey.")
