Look at the Silly Cat! - A Reading Lesson.

The cat sees the magpie.
The cat wants the magpie.
The cat climbs the tree.
The cat finds out that she can't fly.

The magpie can fly.
The magpie flies away!

Look, children!
The silly cat is stuck.

(Oh don't fret. She's fine, now.)

We had a cat who lived here for a few years (he was a boarder - he was a friend's cat) and he climbed a tree after a squirrel and wouldn't come down. For DAYS. Had to be enticed with a can of tuna left out at the bottom of the tree.

Lovely pictures, though. How thoughtful of your Silly Cat to pick a tree with beautiful blossoms to climb! Much more artsy than a plain tree. :^); 5:42 pm GMT
The Bookworm said...: That is a very Aesop-ish "cat chases bird and gets stuck" tale. I'm sure there is a deep moral there somewhere, but it is beyond my bird brain to work out what it is!; 8:51 pm GMT

One Christmas several years ago, we noticed Robert's turkey-hungry kitty missing and found him STRAIGHT up a telephone pole. He had to go up a ladder to get him. We still wonder what he chased up...; 3:57 am GMT
