The Gower Peninsular

One of the most beautiful parts of Britain is the Gower Peninsular of Wales. And this is its most famous beach, Rhossili. I grew up near here and used to visit quite often. The beach was deserted the day we went there because of the 80mph wind. Unfortunately, it was an offshore wind or we'd have surfed! These cliffs are called Worm's Head.
We know someone who came to faith at a camp on Rhossili Beach and was baptised in the sea right here. I thought that a wonderful place for a baptism!
Jack, precariously perched on a cliff, observes more gloomy weather approaching.
The sheep were happy, though.

I love the sheep pictures, but didn't see fences. Do they wander the beach and such? Also, are they tame so that you can pet them? :)

And, now I believe you about the rain. hehe. Great pics, Dorothy!

What a beautiful spot. I know your holiday wasn't the best because of the weather, but I love the ocean during bad weather. It just seems so wild and untamed.

Oh - those photos are just beautiful! I love the last one with the sheep in it & also the one with the fence in the foreground & the beach/ocean behind. Just beautiful!

Thanks Lisa. I liked those two as well!

Bridget...they were fenced in from the sea and the cliffs, but much of the Gower is unfenced and the sheep roam free, so you have to drive carefully! But no, they aren't tame. {g}

You still haven't said what is bringing you to Wales next Spring.

Debbie, I like PICTURES of wild weather on the ocean! But I prefer sunshine when I'm actually there! {vbg}

--The Shack was, however, memorable codswallop. I KNOW there are going to be people who love this book, so I apologise in advance. I thought it bad literature and bad theology. Hey, I'm allowed an opinion! LOL!--

You're allowed any opinion - after all it is YOUR blog :)

Despite the rain your photos are all so lovely, and make me wish we'd had a chance to go on holiday this year even if it was wet. I love the sea and the hills.

Ho hum...well one can dream

Serenata,
It was all paid for by Tesco Supermarkets! I exchanged the vouchers for 4 times their value for Youth Hostel Association family rooms (self-catering). We would not have been able to go otherwise.

I'll have to remember that!

That would be a great place to be baptized.
