Having friends over to share our Shabbat meal on Saturday evening. I managed to get my book lists out in the morning, post the last of the packages, cook chollah and a great meal and even fit in singing practice with Jamie and Grace! Finding out that the (Irish) husband plays the bodhran He'd kept that quiet! Can't wait to get him to play it during 'Be Thou My Vision' at church sometime. He was reticent, but we'll wear him down eventually!
Music going very well at church. {vbg} One or two bum notes and a couple of hiccups (including the keyboard turning itself on to a demo programme during the prayers, with no human assistance!) but people seemed very forgiving and also very encouraging afterwards. It seems the structure of the worship we'd planned had truly blessed people which was a relief!
Going out for lunch at the home of friends after church. WE didn't leave the building until all the music gear was packed away and the chairs stacked and the door locked. (First there in the morning and last to leave!) But, oh delight! I did not have to cook! We went to our friends' house and they had a BBQ. The weather was silly. This April has been so warm that things like May Blossom is flowering already. My garden has cracks in it and we'll soon have to be watering the plants. But how special it was to be relaxing in the garden (having to find shade!) in April.
Surviving my first mammogram.
Coming third in the homeschool blog awards 'Geographical Blog'! That was fun.
Had a quick visit to the airbase to visit Windy and her children. We haven't met for ages so it was nice.
Jack told his Testimony to a group of youth. Church kids had invited their friends to an x-box games tournament. Jack was interviewed and did well, though he was concerned his 'story' wasn't exciting and dramatic enough! {vbg} Mine and Jamie's are enough dramatic testimony for one family, I tried to reassure him.
The kids planning their week's schoolwork schedules without my help.Getting one step further in persuading the LEA to fund the special transport to college for Grace in September. Managing to pin the relevant people down to helping. Gathering all the supporting documentation.
Grace having her first professional singing lesson! Paid for by the extra bit of money we now get from the state because of her diagnosis.
Getting the first day of term over with with not too many difficulties. I organise a few different activities which involve trying to round up people from the home-ed community and extract cheques from them, which is much harder than you'd think. Perhaps I'm just not tough enough. But, we got the classes going, paid for most of them, sorted out some last minute new members. And I even fitted in a weekly grocery shop AND an hour's workout in the gym. Visited with Marcia on the way home. Jack stayed there for a sleepover. Drove for an hour to get home. Fell asleep at 9.00 on the sofa after that day! Tiring but productive.
Emailing replies to 99% of my book customers. Will finish that today. Made a lovely fresh meal for lunch. Jamie is home for the morning and he, Grace and I will eat our first home-made meal in days (all the others have been hurriedly defrosted ready-meals) OUTSIDE! Still can't get over the weather!

I love it when we sing "Be Thou My Vision". Now I will think of you every time we do it. It would be interesting to hear with the bodhran.
Dorothy,
Glad you surived your first (LOL).
One time our computer had a "hiccup' during worship service... someone had set a timer for something and it went off during service... lol.... that was embarassing!
How exciting to place in the top 3 of the blog awards! WAY TO GO!
Be Thou My Vision is my all time favorite hymn... Just love it! ~Yvonne
Well done on the 3rd place. The winner is an e-buddy of mine who homeschools on a boat, so you are in good company :).
And I am very impressed with everything you fit in. I bought an exercise DVD in Tesco today. Does that count?
Congratulations on your 3rd place win! That is awesome!
Also, glad you made it through your first mammogram! The first is always the scariest!
Congrats on the 3rd place blog award.
So glad to hear that things are progressing well for Grace to have transport to college in the fall.
Wow, you've had a super busy week!
Busy, busy week...hope this week is every bit as fulfilling but a bit slower. LOL
Love to hear about your adventures.
Kristine, De'Etta,
Do you really think this was busy? It felt like a somewhat less than usually frantic week to me. {vbg}
The 6 week summer holiday is the only time I get to slow down at all. That's when I can do things like...read books! Looking forward to that.
