Thirteen Things I've never understood

1. Why is there always a teaspoon in the bottom of the washing up bowl after I've tipped the water out?

2. Where do all the missing socks actually go? After 7 years in one house (the longest we've ever lived anywhere) and after dozens of missing socks, we fully expected to find them all after the furniture had been cleared from the house. Nope. Not there. Which means they actually LEFT THE HOUSE! Does this disturb anyone except me?

3. How do British estate agents ever manage to sell anything? They are always about 18 years old, and come into each room with you, wringing their hands, saying silly things like, 'This is the kitchen.' And we pay them 2 1/2 %!!!!

4. Why does my daughter always put the cheese grater away in the herb and pasta cupboard?

5. Where are all my pens? I keep buying more and more, yet whenever I want one there are none on my desk. I'm serious about this. Why?

6. Why do hospitals make you come in the night before an operation and make you get into bed when there's nothing wrong with you? When I had Grace by c section I refused and sent the NHS into a state of palpable panic. I just turned up in the morning. I think the NHS could save a lot of money this way.

7. Why is there a planet named after a Disney Character? OK, so this wasn't MY question. It was the question of a member of my family who shall remain nameless. And I know, it's not a planet any more.

8. Why isn't Pluto a planet anymore?

9. Why do celebrities write things like
this? I tried her suggestion and it can't be done.{g}

10. Why does our hair go grey? Or, more importantly, why has MY hair gone grey?

11. Why is it that my son, who spends every waking moment doing something physical (recently adding Athletics to his list of activities) and doesn't seem to enjoy academic work, tells everyone he plans to be a doctor?

12. Why does Jamie not MIND letting me have the car, when I need it, when it means he has to cycle to the station, wait for a train, wait for a bus and then walk the rest of the way to work? You'd think he'd be resentful, but he never is.

13. Why do people have insomnia, even when they're tired.

I should say that I have seen possible answers to most of these questions. I just still don't understand.
Especially the Pluto thing.{g}

I don't have any answers to these questions, Dorothy, but I just had to write and thank you for making me smile. And think. Hey, there's this great Thinking Blog Award you might qualify for. Oh wait, you've already Been There Done That. Not to mention the super cool Blogger Award nomination that you got.

You had better not run away, your fans would follow you and we'd all end up lost!

I think there are "Sock Gnomes" that sneak into our houses and steal socks from the dryer. We all have them (or at least all reasonable people do). When we moved, I expected there had to be a huge pile of socks somewhere, but I never found them. Are my children running around with only one sock on and then they take it off and lose it? I don't know....LOL
