A Few Photos At Last!

I'm catching up a little with the photos, not that they are particularly stunning, but I don't like my blog to be naked. Ooops, I've used the word 'naked' now so I definitely won't get the Clean Blog rating I see on other people's blogs. One friend was denied the 'clean' rating because she used the word 'thump' somewhere on hers. {vbg}

Goodness knows what would be made of the word Rumbledethumps. {See Below} I suppose the description of my mammogram might have ruined my chances too. Anyway, 'Onwards and upwards' as Jamie's (drunk) uncle used to say...

This is Jack RE-DOING a task he had for his ASDAN portfolio. He disgraced himself (and embarrassed me, which is much, much worse) at our regular Art session by not taking seriously the 'Talk about your artwork in a small group' task. He used it as an opportunity to entertain the other boys, which, admittedly, he is good at. {g} But this was supposed to be Art, not Drama 101. He thoroughly cleaned out our car when we got home, as a result, and had to re-do the activity. I stressed he had to look serious and talk intelligently about his choices.

He managed it.

This is my new table runner and napkins bought for me by my friend Wendrie last time she was in the US. Isn't it nice? She's a clever girl.

I LOVE the embroidery.

These are a couple of large 'broccoli cheeses' I made for the freezer. Though why I took a photo of them I really can't imagine.

Some books ready for posting. And flowers given to me by a friend. How thoughtful.

Getting ready for the kids' praise party we led. We taught them a new action song, 'Goodbye Grumpy Feelings'. I was singing it for the next week.

The Christmas Planner, all printed out and stuffed into a folder. I feel a little more organised just for having done that. It's OK, it's all under control. I tell myself that regularly.

A nice Shabbat meal. Breathing space in the week to focus on God, a lovely Merlot, candles, home-made chollah, my family AND roast potatoes. What more could a woman want?
More books, maybe?

Dorothy, I love seeing pictures of your family.

The table runner is lovely. What a perfect gift for fall.

Dorothy, you are amazing! Within the last two days I have been wondering how to clean a guinea pig (following the sad demise of the other one probably from unidentified infection) and have also been wondering about liturgy to deal with grumpiness, but probably an action song would work too. How does it go?
Everything I ever needed to know...

Jan,

There is a great site that allows you to play the songs and see the lyrics. The (children's) songs were all written by David Heath Whyte, who used to be our curate long ago, but is now a vicar in St Albans area.

Goodbye Grumpy Feelings is one of his. It's good fun to sing. You can also print out the music for free. It's about CHOOSING to praise God, even when we don't feel like it.

Also, this week we're hoping to use a sermonspice clip about worship for the adults because it covers the same sort of area. ('It's not about us, it's all about Him.')

Hope that helps! And glad to be of help with the GP. Ours is alone now too, after the first one died, and I feel very sorry for her.

I've been thinking about having a special meal on Sundays with the family. Your's always looks so peaceful and relaxing. Could I just borrow your family once a week? I'm guessing it'd work out better.LOL
