The Party Season Has Started

The Christmas Party Season has started for the kids. Guides, Scouts, Youth Group, Church Small Groups, Home school groups. It's one long round of social fluttering for the next couple of weeks. Jack is in his absolute element! Grace is stressed and needs coaching and encouraging. I get to spend a lot of time in the car driving people places!

Some other stuff from the last few days.

Art Class - the kids cannot wait for the last one next week. It's been a bit of a trial for them both. Last week, the teacher taught them that mixing blue and red paint gives you purple. LOL! Shame that was about 11 years too late. {g} W and I went to the Garden Centre during Art and took her little ones to the aquarium bulding to look at tropical fish. M (2 years old) tried to tell me some important information about chicken nuggets which I couldn't quite grasp. She also started a long monologue about the constuction workers in hard-hats. I don't think the chicken nuggets were connected to the hard-hats but I could be wrong. {g}

Bible and Readaloud Convergence - Totally a God-provided co-incidence! We are reading through John's Gospel and also Patricia St John's The Victor (tremendous book.) The climax of both books have co-incided and have some of the same characters! Many times in our home-schooling journey God has arranged this sort of thing for us. It's lovely and we all appreciate it so much. I could not possible have planned this any better had I tried! I didn't even know what The Victor was about until I started reading it to them.{g}

Day of Sport - I didn't make it to our Sports in Hemel Hempstead this week. I had hardly slept the night before and knew I wasn't fit to drive all that way. Jack cadged a lift with someone else and Grace chose to laze around at home all day. Actually, we went to the supermarket together and she helped me a lot.

Gymnastics - I always thought Jack had the wrong physique for Gymnastics. All the other boys are thin and wiry and he is broad and muscular, but he seems to be doing pretty well! I watched him for a while when I went to pick him up and he holds his own. He's not so bendy as the others but he has a lot of power in his movements. He's taken to training with weights at home.

New Printer - P blessed us with the ability to buy a new printer/scanner/copier yesterday and that will be such a help. It's been difficult and expensive not having one lately. What a thoughtful friend she is.

Fame - A friend sent a link which shocked us. Jamie has his own entry in Wikipedia! Gulp. But, more importantly, Cynthia mentioned me in her blog!{vbg} And that's quite enough fame for one marriage.

All I can say about Jamie in Wikipedia is WATCH OUT! There's more than one entry for his name, and the one I clicked on is definitely NOT your dh. Yikes, I'm still blushing!

Oh dear sounds like wikipedia might be one to stay away from?

Could it be that hard hats and chicken nuggets are actually made from the same substance or better yet are persons who have jobs involving hard hats more likely to eat chicken nuggets. 2 year old wisdom can be oddly accurate if you can translate it, LOL.

Sounds like you have a very busy season now. Oh and will we be seeing Jack in the Olympics when it's held in England?

Are you sure you searched under his real surname?

I don't know what else is there. The friend who found it sent us the direct link. It was kind of shocking as it seems to be asking for people to 'expand' the entry. Gulp, again.

Yes, Jack fully intends to be at the 2012 Olympics!{g}

Remember that YOU can alter Wiki pages just like anyone else. You might even be able to delete them. I'd say, take control of it. Someone probably made it in a fit of geekdom, and might not be monitoring it, and might not even notice if it went away...
