Father and Son Camp

Jamie and Jack went away to a small Father and Son Camp that he started as a regular thing with friends from our old church. They had a great time as always!

The thing I like about this trip is that is does not involve me. I do not need to arrange or pack anything. The chaps do it all themselves!

Public campsites here do not allow open fires, but this is on private property on a Christmas Tree farm, owned by a homeschooling family, so they could do what they wanted. The Dads and Lads spent quite a bit of time playing sports and riding their bikes around the trails on the hilly property. They also enjoyed the campfire, singing songs, both Scout-type songs and christian songs late into the evening. They also burned plenty of sausages and marshmallows. On the Sunday morning, they gathered for an informal service led by the fathers. Each brought a Bible passage, a message or a song of praise. One of the Dads there is raising his grandson. What a great bonding time it was for all of them.
Jack is learning to play guitar. I hope it wasn't too painful for the others!
Jamie claims this photo was staged. It had better have been!
They both came back with about 80 mosquito bites each as neither remembered to pack the bug spray. Perhaps I should have gone through the checklist with them after all!

Naaaah!
