Foods in Season - March

Here in the UK, these are the foods in season this month.
Parsley
radishes
early rhubarb
carrots
leeks
purple sprouting broccoli
sorrel
beetroot
mint
By the end of March, foods seem to start tasting fresh and real again! We'll start eating more salads and vegies and less pasta and breads. If Grace continues to drag me out for walks, I might even start to feel better!

And spring greens :). We had some in this week's veg box and they were delicious sauteed in butter. Not much UK produce generally at this time of year, though - spring is the doldrums for veg growers (according to the info in my box). Last year's winter crops (root veg mostly) are running out, and it will be a while before the summer crops are ready to pick.

You are really quite a bit ahead of us here in your growing season. I can't wait for some fresh garden produce. Yum!

We are starting to see some of the "summer" produce too. We used to see mostly California things, but I am noticing more from Florida now that we live on the east coast!

Right now we are ending strawberry season here in Florida. The crop this year has been awesome!
